JOB TITLE: Storage Solution Architect
Appro International. is seeking a highly experienced Storage Solutions Architect to provide a very high level of pre-sales expertise around Appro storage products including hardware and software. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company that is fast becoming the leader in providing complete High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions. The Storage Solutions Architect will be involved in designing storage configurations in response to customer requirements, working on our benchmark clusters where s/he will benchmark various storage subsystems including high IOPS nodes, local and global file systems, and HSM solutions. The candidate must be extremely organized with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Knowledge and Skills:
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communications skills
- Hands-on development and architecture experience with storage based hardware and software products
- Strong protocol understanding of PCIe, IB, SAS, SATA, FC, SCSI and ATA based standards.
- Well versed in different operating systems and associated storage application requirements.
- Strong knowledge of clustered file systems including Lustre, PanFS, GPFS, GFS, and NFS v4.x
- Thorough knowledge of Upper Layer Protocols such as MPI, uDAPL, SDP, SRP, and/or iSER
- Strong knowledge of high performance networking including InfiniBand and Ethernet

JOB TITLE: Data Center Solutions Architect

Appro International. is seeking a highly experienced Data Center Solutions Architect to provide a very high level of pre-sales expertise around Appro Data Center solutions, particularly with respect to power and cooling. This is an excellent opportunity to join a growing company that is fast becoming the leader in providing complete High Performance Computing (HPC) solutions. The Data Center Solutions Architect will be involved in designing power and cooling configurations in response to customer requirements, as well as providing post-sales support to Appro's Professional Services team to ensure all aspects of the proposed solution is communicated to the customer and the facilities portion of the new installation goes off without any issues. The candidate must be extremely organized with an ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

    JOB TITLE: Computer System Integration Engineer

    We have an immediate opening for multiple CAREER OPPORTUNITIES for Computer System Integration Engineers (Level III) positions in our Milpitas, CA facility.

    Responsibilities will mainly include those listed under Level III below. However, Level I or Level II duties may be performed on occasion:
    Level I
    - Deploy and install rackmount servers
    - Build out server cabinets and rack and stack equipment
    - Post manufacturing testing and build of servers
    - Network cabling (Ethernet and InfiniBand)
    Level II
    - Implement high-speed networking interconnects and storage
    - Configure Linux OS and applications in a HPC Cluster environment
    - Provide feedback for test strategy and test cases to Engineering
    - Communicate with 3rd party vendors to escalate any technical issues
    Level III
    - Work with customer to finalize requirements for installation (project technical lead)
    - Work with Project manager to establish schedules for build, staging and installation
    - Provide input for integration project planning
    - Review and provide input to acceptance test plans
    - Ensure installed systems pass full acceptance including escalation of issue to Appro engineering or partner support

    Requirements:
    Level III
    - BS degree in EE/CS or 10 years or more of hands on experience
    - Knowledge of many of the following:
  • Linux Operating Systems (specifically desired is Red Hat/CentOS) required
  • Server hardware required
  • Ethernet networking required
  • Power and power Management highly desired
  • InfiniBand high speed networking highly desired
  • Storage, specifically NAS/SAN desired
  • Accelerators (GPUs, Multi-core, FPGA) desired

    JOB TITLE: Marketing Coordinator
    We have an immediate opening for a Marketing Coordinator position in our Milpitas, CA facility. The candidate needs to possess exceptional relationship-building skills with 2 years experience in executing marketing communication plans to support company brand from a content and creative assets deliverables standpoint. This position will need to understand company products and customer needs to execute programs to ensure successful product launches and marketing efforts overall.  Maintain the company focused marketing strategy and goals involving partner marketing activities, company website maintenance, marketing collateral development, creating promotional campaigns while maintaining brand consistency as well as creating quarterly reporting on marketing metrics and analysis.

    Skills:
    · Implement/execute quarterly marketing plans with key partners by managing MDF ( Marketing Development Funds) and reimbursement process
    · Manage website functionality, content, images, look and feel and leverage the website as a key marketing tool
    - Develop and manage collateral such as product brochures, datasheets, success stories, and flyers by coordinating content, graphics and layout to meet timelines
    - Manage agencies for specific graphic ideas, flash demos, product demos, and collateral materials
    - Responsible for media ads as well as creating marketing messages and creative ideas for banner ads, posters, graphics and flyers to include managing timeline and deliverables for the specific media sites.
    - Work with vendor and graphic agencies for specific projects
    - Support the Marketing Director during product launch activities from concept through completion, including website changes, design and promotion of key marketing messages for Appro's products

    This position requires excellent communication and organization skills and an eagerness to learn and grow in this fast-paced industry. In this position, you will assist the Bid Response Team with customer inquiries and preparation of Request for Proposal (RFP) documents and be a key part of the growth of our global sales efforts. The focus of this position is to read, analyze and coordinate the response to highly technical, lengthy RFP documents.

    Compensation will consist of a base salary and sales incentive plan with an opportunity for fast career advancement based on evaluation of job performance.

    JOB TITLE: Technical Support Engineer Hardware (HW) Milpitas Ca
    Appro International, Inc. (APPRO) is seeking an experienced Technical Support Engineer (TSE) to provide all aspects of Level3 support for Appro’s growing list of customers. This position, the HW TSE, will have a critical focus on hardware technical skills specifically in regard to servers, storage and PCI-e adapters. The HW TSE will be involved in working on customer issues that involve Appro or partner hardware.     PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITY:
    Help customers solve technical issues with Appro’s HPC deployments:
    · Answering technical questions from customers to resolve problems/complaints.
    · Verify customer complaints - Troubleshoot/test/repair HPC computers
    · Provide accurate problem descriptions, with all necessary support documentation for interdepartment triage of client issues. (Escalation)
    · Develop improvement programs within the department to increase capabilities and improve efficiencies. (Example: internal test programs for components/systems)

    REQUIREMENTS:

    · Thorough understanding of server components including motherboards, memory and storage
    · Thorough understanding of analog and digital circuit theory and principals

    Tasks:
    · Consult with customers, partners, management, product development, and others to determine appropriate cluster or stand alone solutions to build, productize, and ship.
    · Conduct research and analysis on new and innovative HPC solutions; consider their value and relevance, and present results/recommendations to Appro management.
    · Assist in the development of new product lines.
    · Compile code using PGI, Intel, and other compilers to optimize customer programs and benchmarks for Appro platforms.
    · Use and Debug MPI Code written in C, C++, and FORTRAN to demonstrate system functionalities (Multiple MPI usage – MPICH, MVAPICH, Intel, Platform).
    · Script in Linux using bash/csh for benchmarking and testing.
    · Benchmark key products (servers, storage, interconnection networks) and engage with Development group on recommended modifications.
    · Engage with Marketing to present benchmark data and give input on technical product marketing strategies.
    · Assist with the staging, testing, and shipping of product to customers.

    Essential Job skills: C, C++, FORTRAN, MPI (One-year industry experience in each), bash/csh scripting, Compilers (PGI, Intel), IOZone, Linux (Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5) - Red Hat Certified Systems Administrator(RHCSA) level, RAID Storage, Rocks Clusters, HPC Networking (infiniband, 10GE) , HPC Server hardware knowledge (motherboards, CPUs), Broad Technology Knowledge inc.     Business Development Executives (BDE) are field sales positions which are responsible for developing customer relationships through lead follow-up, generating quotes and supporting customer needs.
